Composition
The composition of a photo is the way its arranged to appear the most pleasing, this link explains the rules of composition: http://www.photographymad.com/pages/view/10-top-photography-composition-rules. The site shows many of the rules of composition using examples to help explain.
This photo is well composed because it obeys the rule of thirds and using complimentry colours (blue and orange) to draw attention to the focal point. However the following one is not, its leading lines lead away from the focal point and distract the viewer because the object is centred.

A good post Ashley, but it would have been nice to discuss the composition of the work of a famous photographer - one of the chosen four perhaps.
